Introduction
Even since Anil Kapoor gained recognition with his tapori role and stubble in the film Mashaal in , and iconic dialogue “ek dum jhakaas†from the movie Yudh, he has really come far in these three decades. He has acted in International films like “Mission Impossible 3 – The Ghost Protocol†and the British drama “Slumdog Millionaireâ€. He now stands tall as a director, singer and even a TV serial (Indian version of 24) producer.
Early Life
Born in Chembur, Mumbai, Anil Kapoor studied at Our Lady of Perpetual Succour School, and was an avid fan of Bollywood films at an early age. He managed to see most of the films telecasted during the Ganesh Maha Utsav every year. He was also a fan of Raj Kapoor, and mimicked the legendary showman in his early days.

Mashaal (lit.'Torch') is a Bollywoodaction film. Produced and directed by Yash Chopra, it starred Dilip Kumar, Waheeda Rehman, Anil Kapoor and Rati Agnihotri.[2][3] The role played by Anil Kapoor was first offered to Amitabh Bachchan and then to Kamal Haasan,[4] but after they declined the offer, the role went to Anil Kapoor. Vinod Kumar (Dilip Kumar) plays a respected, law-abiding citizen who turns to crime for exacting revenge. The movie was based on the Marathi play Ashroonchi Zhali Phule written by Marathi writer Vasant Kanetkar.[5] The movie was remade in Malayalam as Ithile Iniyum Varu with Mamooty playing the lead role.
Plot
[edit]Vinod Kumar is an upright and honest man, who runs a newspaper named "Mashaal". Vinod exposes the ills in the society with help of his newspaper. Vinod's wife, Sudha, sees a vagabond named Raja and tries to instill some values and culture in him. Vinod is sceptical about
