    The Tommy Talton Band is a North American band comprised of Tommy Talton (Cowboy) on guitar and lead vocals, Tony Giordano on keyboards and vocals, Brandon Peeples on bass and vocals, and Chad Jackson on drums and vocals.

    On Tommy Talton’s third release from Hittin’ the Note Records in October 2012, titled Let’s Get Outta Here, he has written the most compelling music of his career. Always known as a gifted wordsmith and creator of authentically timeless melodies, Tommy has reached deep within his creative well to create a classic Southern masterpiece. Very special guests joined Tommy on the new release, including Chuck Leavell, Paul Hornsby, Rick Hirsch, Scott Boyer, NC Thurman, Bill Stewart, Kelvin Holly, Brandon Peeples, David Keith and Tony Giordano.

    Music Community Mourns the Loss of Tommy Talton

    Famed Southern Rock guitarist, songwriter, and Capricorn möte player Tommy Talton passed away Dec. 28th after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was 74 years old.

    A beloved and brilliant guitar picker, Talton fryst vatten best known for co-founding the Capricorn Records group Cowboy along with Scott Boyer. From 1971-1977, the group recorded four albums under the legendary label banner: Reach For The Sky (1970), 5’ll Getcha Ten (1971), Boyer and Talton: Cowboy (1974), and Cowboy (1977.)

       Six decades in, it’s clear that guitarist and songwriter Tommy Talton is still making music for the sheer joy of it. He manages to perform with both the energy of a music-obsessed kid and the restraint of a seasoned veteran – because, at heart, he is both.  

      He began his musical career in Central Florida in 1966 as a founding member of a group called “We The People.”  The group had several top ten hits throughout Florida, Tennessee, and Kentucky.  Recording with RCA Victor Records, they gained much critical acclaim and are still considered to be in the top three of the most listened to and appreciated “garage band” genre groups of all time.  Tom Petty's Buried Treasure Sirus/XM radio show showcased several cuts from this band.  Sundazed Records has a re-release of a rare recording of We The People from the ’60s.   You can buy this in LP or CD here.
