For those who're not aware, well, Dr Rahi Masoom Raza penned the dialogues of 'Mahabharata', which became so popular that viewers across the country started speaking that kind of Kintu/Parantu Hindi. All the dialogues were written in quaintly chaste Hindi. But did you know that Dr Rahi Masoom Raza initially declined B R Chopra's request to write the dialogues for the tele-serial 'Mahabharata'? Yes, Raza politely said 'no' to B R Chopra. Yet, Chopra announced Raza's name as a dialogue writer!

    Mahabharat is an Indian Hindi-language epic television series based on the ancient Sanskrit epicMahabharata. The original airing consisted of a total of 94 episodes[2] and were broadcast from 2 October to 24 June on Doordarshan.[3][4][5] It was produced by B. R. Chopra and directed by his son, Ravi Chopra.[6] The music was composed by Raj Kamal. The script was written by Pandit Narendra Sharma and the Hindi/Urdu poet Rahi Masoom Raza, based on the epic by Vyasa. Costumes for the series were provided by Maganlal Dresswala.[7] The serial claims to have used the Critical Edition of Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute as its basic source with Vishnu Sitaram Sukthankar and Shripad Krishna Belwalkar as its primary editor.

    Kunti (Sanskrit: कुन्ती, IAST: Kuntī), also known as Pritha (Sanskrit: पृथा, IAST: Pṛthā), is one of the female protagonists of the epic, Mahabharata. She is best known as the mother of the Pandavas, the main protagonists of the epic, and the warrior Karna. She is also mentioned in the Bhagavata Purana because of her connection with Krishna, the main figure of the text. She is described to be beautiful, intelligent and shrewd.[1][2]

    Born to Yadava chief Shurasena, Pritha was adopted by her childless uncle, Kuntibhoja and was renamed as Kunti. During her teenage years, she impressed sage Durvasa and was blessed with a divine mantra. Out of curiosity, the young lady used the mantra to invoke Surya and was blessed with a son named Karna.
