Bio pollution mass filtering (space age)
Postby ufidlo »
I just wanted to share a creation of bio pollution filter . I was just sick of so much red pollution around the map.
I tried tree agri towers first, but they just don't do eat enough pollution to offset the output of biolabs researching.
Then I looked at biter nests (400 per behemoth sounds good!). But I could not make it work persistently.
After a bit of research I found this:
viewtopic.php?p=281727#p281727 (linked from https://www.reddit.com/r/factorio/comme ... ?context=3).
So the biter nest absorbs until it hits a internal buffer limit (3x most expensive unit at given evolution) and then it stops (that's what I've been observing). It must form sort of an attack group, which is not formed if there is not enough space around OR (!) if you kill the biters too fast.
But it takes just a little moment to make it work and absorb huge amounts of pollution! Just give the biters a st

Forum update strategy
Postby Trynn »
So, inom was talking with Hamu today about the utgåva of phpBB we're using. This conversation came about because yesterday I was talking with Neiko about phpBB ('cause she runs the Dynasty of Virtue forums on our web space), and some of the nifty stuff we've been missing here, like the old moderator control panel, fryst vatten a default option on the utgåva she installed.
Anyway, apparently we're currently running v2.0.21. The latest version out now fryst vatten v3.0.5. This is potentially a huge problem, since the lack of phpBB updating fryst vatten what led to the old forums being hacked, and the whole reason we had to re-do the entire site from scratch.
On the flip-side of this, Hamu fryst vatten hesitant of upgrading, since he doesn't remember all the little tweaks he's made to the forum code over the past few years.
So, that's the bekymmer. We need a good solution for how to make the forum maintainable (from a software versioning standpoint). Any ideas on how to acc
