Ignacio Allende was born on January 21, 1769 in Guanajuato, one of the most populated cities in Mexico today. His father, of Spanish origin, and his mother, were dedicated to agriculture and commerce.
During his studies in his youth, he met the Aldama brothers, who also became famous for being in the same military circle as Allende. As an adult he became even more interested in the military and the world of arms, which led him to join the army in 1795.
Ignacio Allende was able to form a family: he married María de la Luz Agustina de las Fuentes and had three children with her: Indalecio, José Guadalupe and Juana María.
