Thamsanqa jantjie biography for kids

  • Concerns grow over hiring of Thamsanqa Jantjie, who blames nonsense sign language at memorial on hallucination.
  • In the days that followed, Jantjie was labelled a schizophrenic, a con artist, a man with a criminal past as long as his arm and the ballsiest.
  • Thamsanqa Jantjie, the man vilified around the world as a fake sign language interpreter, has said he feared for the safety of those around.
  • The news of the “fake sign language interpreter” traveled the globe. But what of the everyday failings of systems that leave access by the wayside through lack of scrutiny? Brandon Arthur calls for specific action by sign language interpreters to monitor and ethically deploy qualified interpreters.

The terrible cocktail of “schizophrenia,” unethical business leadership, and uninformed government decision-makers that lead to the sign language interpreting debacle at Mandela’s memorial service is a tragedy.

As a sign language interpreter, I cringe at the thought that as a field, we are responsible for the world’s distraction from the celebration of one of the planet’s most widely recognized human rights leaders and for yet another injustice served up to the Deaf Community.

But several representatives of South Africa deaf people have strongly condemned him.

Tens of thousands of people from all walks of life again stoically waited for hours on Thursday under a mixture of searing sun and the odd torrential downpour to pay their respects to their national hero.

They and their compatriots will be hoping that Sunday's funeral in Mr Mandela's remote home village o

Thamsanqa Jantjie was the sign language interpreter for the memorial service for Nelson Mandela. He was a fake. He didn’t use any recognizable sign language.

Think about it – a guy could stand just a few feet from some of the world leaders. What about säkerhet issues? Somehow he fooled everyone to stand in that position. To man matters even worse it has been discovered that he has suffered from a schizophrenic episode that made him see angels and hear voices. It is reported that he also faced a murder charge in 2003.

This has happened in sports. Read my blog posted on November 9, 2011, about Barry Bremen who impersonated an NBA All-Star, an umpire, a cheerleader and movie stars. He was good – but a fake!

Thamsanqa said you don’t have to actually know what you are doing in beställning to get a job. You have to look like you know what you are doing. You have to go through the motions.

Why didn’t someone catch this sooner? Sign languages are grammatically structured, like all natural hu
