He is best known for his bio roles as shooting victim Oscar Grant in the drama Fruitvale Station (), boxer Adonis Creed in Creed (), and Erik Killmonger in Black Panther (), all of which were written and directed by Ryan Coogler.[3][4][6] Jordan reprised his role of Creed in Creed II () and Creed III (); the latter also marked his directorial debut.

Michael B. Jordan just the latest Newark native honored on Hollywood Walk of Fame
Newark-raised Michael B. Jordan, director and star of the upcoming "Creed III," was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles Wednesday, cementing his A-list credentials.
Jordan was born in California, but moved with his family to Newark when he was young. He attended Newark Arts High School and broke into acting young, appearing on an episode of Garden State classic "The Sopranos." He went onto play a significant role in another iconic HBO series as Wallace in "The Wire."
Jordan is now one of the biggest stars in Hollywood, and is making his directorial with "Creed III," the latest film in the "Rocky" series.
