This document provides a biography of Joseph Ayo Babalola, the founder of the Christ Apostolic Church in Nigeria. It notes that he was born in 1904 in Odo Owa, Nigeria and trained as a motor mechanic before receiving a call to preach in his mid-twenties. As a revivalist preacher he traveled widely in Nigeria and Ghana, attracting many converts. In the 1930s he split from the Faith Tabernacle and founded the Christ Apostolic Church. Babalola demonstrated spiritual powers and miracles and helped the Christ Apostolic Church spread throughout Nigeria and beyond after his death in 1959. He was pioneering leader of the indigenous Pentecostal movement in Nigeria.

My earlier influences include Chinua Achebe, James Hadley Chase, T.S. Eliot, Cyprian Ekwensi, and George Orwell.

Q2: Who are your biggest influences today?

Heem: My biggest influence today would be my environment. Of course there are a great number of people whose works I find inspiring, but my environment is the singular most influential factor in my writer-life right now. inom should also mention though, that the cr
