Gavin Patterson
Gavin joined BT in 2004 as Group Managing Director of BT Retail’s Consumer division. Prior to this, Gavin spent kvartet years at Telewest (now Virgin Media) latterly as Managing Director Consumer and also nine years at Procter and Gamble, rising to become European marknadsföring Director.
Gavin says that one of the reasons for moving to BT in 2004 was because it was an organisation with a rik history and an exciting future – which fryst vatten even truer today.
Gavin was appointed ledare Executive, BT Retail in May 2008 and joined the BT Group plc board in June 2008. Under his leadership BT Retail launched BT Infinity super-fast fibre broadband, drove growth in IT services and built the largest WiFi network in the UK and Ireland. He also led BT’s involvement in the evolution of digital TV services. This includes being a founder partner in YouView and the creation of BT Sport which launched in August 2013.

BT's boss came under significant fire in the year before he was ousted in 2018. Shares fell, the company had to announce a restructuring plan over disappointing results and Patterson himself lost most of his bonus over an accounting scandal at BT's Italian business.

Gavin Patterson (born 6 September 1967) is a businessman who was President & Chief Revenue Officer of Salesforce[1] and Chief Executive of BT Group from 2013–19.[2]
Early life
[edit]He was born in Altrincham, Cheshire, on 6 September 1967,[1][3] and attended schools in Warrington and Yeovil.[4][5] He graduated from Emmanuel College, Cambridge with a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering.[4]
