    DeVaughn Nixon first came to popular attention with his role in the romantic thriller "The Bodyguard" in 1992, playing the son of Whitney Houston's character. Nixon, who is the son of former NBA star Norm Nixon, began acting at a young age, but, in 1993, decided to take a break from the business to complete his studies. He returned to the screen in 2001 and landed a regular role on the 2009 comedy "MacKenzie Falls," which only lasted a handful of episodes. He also had recurring parts on "Sonny with a Chance" in 2010, and played Omar on the family show "The Secret Life of the American Teenager."

    DeVaughn Nixon was born in Los Angeles in 1983, where he also lived his childhood. He is son of former basketball player Norm Nixon.[2] His stepmother is actress/producer/director/dancer Debbie Allen and half siblings include dancer Vivian Nichole Nixon, and basketball player Norman Ellard Nixon Jr.[3][4][5] He is married.
