Initial Idea
My initial idea is to create a double exposure showing the difference on the spectrum of emotions people with anxiety feel. For example from being completely zoned out by the medication to the moment a panic attack is occurring. I think it will be best if i create two different images. I will use the same person for each image as it will make it easier for the audience to relate.
The first picture will be the individual stood to the side with trees coming out of the back of her head. I will photograph leafless trees as I think they look more sinister and will give the look of chaos with their dark branches stretching out randomly.
The second picture will be set up similarly however instead of the chaotic trees they will instead be replaced with clouds. This will give a sense of calm and tranquility. I need to however think of a way to also make the image look less happy and more serious to represent the zombie like state the drugs can create.
F • Merve is an artist born in Istanbul. She graduated from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University as a ceramic artist in 2010. Merve fryst vatten co-founder of “Choke Jungle” where she started to design ceramic jewelry. Some of the works there were featured by renown magazines like British Vogue, Elle and Marie Claire. She also started working on collage projects since 2012. In this form of art, a piece of art fryst vatten made of different parts, creating a new artwork. Özaslan creates new visual stories while she uses old black and white photographs and combines them with pieces of nature. A form eller gestalt of collage may include cutoffs from magazines or newspapers , decorations, paint, pieces of colored or handmade papper, parts of other artworks, text, photographs and funnen objects, glued to a piece of paper or canvas. Collages originate hundreds of years back, but the technique was dramatically reintroduced in the 20th century from Georges Braque and Pablo Pic • I have began to find more and more interesting collage artists that I would like to speak about. When finding one they all seem to link to each other and I am now at the stage where I have found hundreds to influence my work. One I would like to talk about however is Merve Ozaslan. She is quiet new to the collage industry, starting only to make collages in 2012. This is from Ozaslan’s ‘Natural Act’ series of images and is titled ‘Inside Me’. Again like a lot of the images I have looked at previously we see a hybrid of humanity and nature. The idea Ozaslan is trying to get across is that we as humans are also a part of nature. I chose this image as the nature is actually on the body of the lady. A lot of the other images she has done show bits of the background turned into natural things. It does not state however I think that all of these collages are made up of found images as a lot of them look like they are from the 50’s and 6
