    Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu was born on October 18, 1964, into the family of the late Pa Ishmael and Deaconess Bessie Ikpeazu of Umuebere in Umubiakwa Village, Isialaukwu Mbato community in Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State, Nigeria.

    In his early years, he attended Amaise Central Primary School, Umuobiakwa, before moving on to Eziama High School, Aba, and later Ihie High School, Isiala Ngwa, where he completed his School Certificate Examination in 1979. Continuing his educational pursuit, he enrolled at the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) in 1980, earning a first degree in Clinical Biochemistry in August 1984.

    Okezie Victor Ikpeazu(born 18 October 1964) is a Nigerian politician and former Governor of Abia State,[1] who was in office from 29 May 2015 to 29 May 2023. He was elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party.[2][3] He was re-elected as the Governor of Abia state at the 9 March 2019 gubernatorial election.[4][5] He ran for election at the 2023 Senatorial election for Abia South Senatorial District but came a distant third behind incumbent Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe of All Progressive Grand Alliance and a political newbie Chinedu Onyeizu of the Labour Party.[6]

He succeeded ledare T A Orji as Governor on the 29th of May 2015 after defeating three major opponents: Alex Otti (APGA) Chikwe Udensi (PPA) and Anyim Nyerere (APC) after the governorship polls conducted on April 11th and 25th 2015.
